A Family Women's Journey in Albania: Bonds Forged, Moments Cherished

How many times had we waited for the right moment to stop, breathe, and simply be together? In our retreat, we created that moment. 'A Family Women's Journey' was the space where we agreed to set aside daily routines and roles, making room for the deepest connections. It was not a random collection of workshops, but a complete, continuous, and profound process carefully built to enable true release and connection. Dori, a yoga teacher and facilitator of healing spaces, led the journey with a rare, cliché-free approach that combined therapeutic depth, rebirthing, aromatherapy, liberating laughter, authenticity, and freedom.

We returned home filled with renewed strength, breathing freely, full of shared experiences and fond memories of being together. In the heart of northern Albania's wild nature, amidst mountains and water, we collectively quieted the noise and experienced the process to its fullest: from yoga and ecstatic dance, through sound healing and breathwork, to inspiring conversation. It was an experience that left us strengthened, more connected to each other, and with a deep bond that would accompany us forward. We enjoyed a luxurious 4-night stay at a rural hotel, enveloped by Albania's wild and green nature. The hotel, in the heart of Theth village, offered easy access to iconic sites and beautiful nature trails, and its communal spaces were fertile ground for activities, practice, rest, deep conversations, and quiet coffee. Each room, with a private bathroom, offered a sense of comfort and privacy. The food that nourished us was local and fresh, supporting our practice and feeling of lightness.

The hotel in Theth village was embraced by mountain peaks on all sides. A natural hug that allowed us to pause and turn inward. In the expansive garden and inviting balcony, we started our mornings with hot coffee, deep conversations, and endless silence against the backdrop. Yoga practices with the first rays of sun peeking through the mountains, beautiful nature trails, and a tour of the authentic village were combined with small moments of magic: writing and drawing on pebbles by the flowing water, and a shared shot raised against the peaks. All of these created for us an experience of true disconnection and deep connection that echoed the strengths within us.

Our journey began with arrival at Tirana airport, from where we set off together to the enchanting destination, and concluded in a full circle as we returned there, filled with experiences. What began as a retreat transformed into an internal and external journey of discovery, connection, and love. The journey ended, but its spirit remained etched, accompanying us in every step we took, reminding us of the power and healing in togetherness and the beauty of true connection.
